Since I was a little kid I would always do something to my new clothes. Be it, cut a little bit of a shirt or add something to a new dress. My parents were never pleased with this habit. But, I was never satisfied with the uniformity of buying something at a department store. Everyone else could buy the same dress, shirt, or pants and we would end up looking the same. So, I wanted to add something no one else could have. Of course, now I just add accessories to my clothing I buy at H&M or F21 to make it unique.
I remember when I discovered bleach and the effect it had on clothing and specially on denim. So today, I will show you how I make bleach jean vests.
Step 1: Buy a simple jean shirt, jacket, vest (like the first picture)
Step 2: Tie the shirt with a hair tie. Make sure you twist the shirt before tying it.
Step 3: Make sure the shirt is in a secure place like a sink or a tub. That way you don't spill the bleach anywhere you don't want it to go.
Step 4: Get any store bought bleach.
Step 5: Pour the bleach onto the sink, making sure the shirt is covered with as much bleach as you desire.
Step 6: Wait about 5 to 7 minutes. Depending on how much you want the shirt to be bleached. Keep checking on it to see how bleached it is getting.
Step 7: Untie the shirt and check out your result. Then rinse the shirt and wash it in the washing machine.
Try it out!!
I will be selling the bleach vests I have been making. Make sure you check them out.

ReplyDeleteThank you very much for sharing this, the vest looks brilliant!
ReplyDeleteYou can use bleach and a paint brush to draw/write on denim as well. I used to do that alot during my punk rock days.

ReplyDeletethis looks amazing. I love the ombre look, especially the fact that those dark lines did not disappear. I definitely have to try this with something.
